Broadcast and Streaming

As of November 2026, you can now watch Promised Land online (if you are a Cascade PBS Passport member) and catch it via their broadcast schedule. We were thrilled earlier this year when PBS reached out to acquire a two year license to broadcast and stream Promised Land. We are frustrated that the film continues to be relevant a decade after it first premiered in festivals, but we remain in awe of the resiliency of the tribes as they continue their fights for the restoration of their federal acknowledgment.

You can visit the page they’ve set up for the film to stream and check local listings for Cascade PBS for upcoming broadcast dates.

ABout the film

Promised Land is an award-winning social justice documentary that follows two tribes in the Pacific Northwest: the Duwamish and the Chinook, as they fight for the restoration of treaty rights they've long been denied. In following their story, the film examines a larger problem in the way that the government and society still looks at tribal sovereignty.
